What Are Your Options With the Right Car rental Works
A real road trip for me is a wheeled pedestal, in my case a rental car. So I am flexible on the ground and can explore my destination individually. So that the road trip succeeds and is not overshadowed by difficulties in the rental car booking, I have written down my tips and tricks for booking a rental car.
Booking the rental car
Again and again, the question is asked where best to book the car, on site or from America. My recommendation is very clear: Always from America. This has several advantages. On the one hand, the booking is under English law, which can be especially important in disputes. Then the rental conditions and the lease are in English. This has the advantage that there can be no misunderstandings by the foreign language. In addition, you have enough time to read through the rental conditions. One last point is insurance coverage. Often the car rental companies in America offer better liability insurance with higher coverage. With the options for the best car rental commercial the opportunities are there no doubt.
Choosing the right car class
With a rental car you often have a large selection of different car classes. The temptation is great to finally drive a car that you might never drive in everyday life. Or who would not even drive with a convertible through the US. Despite all the temptation you should not neglect very practical considerations.
- How many people travel together and how much luggage do they have? Even if a car has 5 seats thatdoes not mean that there is enough space for 5 suitcases. And nothing is more inconvenient than riding your luggage between your legs for three weeks.
- Is a four-wheel drive vehicle necessary for the route? Many routes, eg in the USA, Australia or New Zealand, are easily passable by a normal car or with an SUV with increased ground clearance. In Alaska or Namibia, for example, a 4WD makes sense. However, it is important to look at the rental conditions, because even if you have rented a SUV, this does not mean that it is also allowed to drive off-road.
- Will you have to leave the car with our entire luggage? This is often the case with a road trip, because most of the time you leave in the morning from a hotel, drive a few hours to the destination and then do some things, such as sightseeing or hiking and then moves to the next accommodation. Therefore, the trunk should be as closed as possible and not visible. In SUVs, this is usually not the case, even convertibles are not very safe due to the small storage space.
Personally, I usually rent a full-size car when traveling with my partner, or a big SUV when we drive four. So all persons including luggage have enough space and in the interior is still storage space for backpacks, coolers or the like.
Which tariff is the right one?
There are different rates for the various car rental companies. No matter which tariff you choose, it is important that it meets the following minimum requirements:
Customary liability insurance with increased coverage. This is especially useful in the US, we all have already heard of the spectacular claims for damages.
